Collectable Kenya banknotes with Dictator

Collectable Kenya banknotes with Dictator

so anyway hello fellow bang neck like
this this is a Glen back with another video on GU MIDI coins and banknotes and
Wow well I’ve never actually done a video on
Kenyan banknotes and I do have a few but I just haven’t got around of it there’s
actually quite a lot of coins and banknotes so I actually have not got a
video of a lot of those are ancient Greek which I had to have a few ancient
Roman ancient Indian I have quite a lot of coins but not too many videos but
sooner or later I’ll get around to doing them because I want electing is awesome
doesn’t matter what you collect even banknotes as well so today we’re just
gonna have a look at the banknote issue for Kenya between listen 1994 and 2002
so it’s only 8 years so these banknotes are in circulation for 8 years and then
they’ll replace by the previous series which was in circulation up until this
year and it’s an album replace without really really good series he’ll need to
actually get a set of so these banknotes actually have the portrait of President
here is his 9 year yeah Danielle toroid teach are up Moy and
here was the president of Kenya at the time so I was present from 1978 2002
that’s that’s pretty much a dictator no president that’s elected by the people
no Prime Minister with Chancellor is actually in power for such a long period
of time there have been a few to come close but so that is 24 years and if you
know of any democratically elected head of state it was actually been president
for over 24 years so please like I den below so you can educate me cuz I
can’t be wrong and now that my being told that I am wrong because that’s how
you learn so this guy still alive was born in 1924 and he led the two new
parties so that is the Kenyan African National Union and the president now is
the son of Kenyatta Jomo Kenyatta who was the first
president of Kenya and his name is ooh Oh food Oh Kenyatta and I’ll put it that
name so I’m sorry so you’ve been not too for me of Kenyan
banknotes they actually don’t see the 20 shilling anymore and where has he ever
get my coins they actually replaced it with a coin in 1998 so this is actually
it’s the current you know what the formal coin the 20 shillings in its 1998
in 2005 they replaced it with bikini out of portrait and currently it actually
issued a new coin series it’s actually a lot better than the previous one so as
you can see this banknote has a security Fred the first issue actually didn’t
have a security fred had known features like that has a watermark of a line so
she couldn’t see the beautiful line there and it has another security
feature over here which is I had just raised if you rub your finger on it
it’s actually raised so you got 20 is there anything else you can see it
should have the UV on that as well because UV on these paint nice is just
as colorful as the actual banknote itself so in the background we have a
mountain I wonder if that’s not too sure what actually mountain that is so if
anyone knows please let me know and we have a watermark which is actually a oh
no not a war democracy through image which is partial on both sides and
that’s an elephant so you’ve got the trunk there in the tail and on the
reverse we have their bottom legs and the back and on this bank note we
actually have the more International Sports Complex that’s in Nairobi and as
you can see it’s a soccer stadium and I thought probably also be a track and
field and ever thought the stadiums or sports actually use it and here we have
the Olympic rings so hmm maybe as I think Kenya’s had the Olympics it’s too
poor country they wouldn’t actually allow it so maybe it’s used for training
athletes so that’s the twenty shilling the only ever baked not I have is
actually the fifty shillings so he is despite note as you can see the features
on it are pretty much the same with just different color so here’s the 20 here’s
the 50 pretty much the same the watermarks also the lion but looks like
the line is actually in a different pose this one’s looking straight at you dis
one’s looking probably more towards the side so this one is a blue this one is a
brownish red and as you can see if Sons 1996 and the 50 Sheldon is actually
still a current banknotes were for about 20 cents when this was issued is
probably worth for direct that dollars oh and that’s straw Judy fall and the
Kenyan shilling and this one has a caravans elephant monuments elephant
tusks monument and say these in my Avenue which is in Mombasa which is a
coastal city as you know ivory trade is actually or was pretty popular in the
early 20th century and camels are quite popular in for transport in the older
times so it’s quite a nice banknote and the thing is with this banknote so this
is the 96 series so there is actually two different types of signatures you
should get just get brown and black now this one actually looks like the black
type of signature and the brown one yeah this is the black one sort of brown ones
are more like the color of a rock my daddy use their but it’s just
transferred there so all this lettering should actually be brown so if you’re
going to collect these then that’s what you need to look out for but I don’t
think that either of those signature colorations are rare they’re probably
pretty much common but you’ll notice that probably IA ACS the brown and AD on
once is the black color signatures and all the signatures from the later dates
are actually the same black color as the one you see here so that is a nice
banknote full of color everything actually fits together and you would see
that actually look quite nice so how much do these actually cost well as they
are an older series and I actually still have some value so this one’s about 20
cents this one’s about 50 cents I said 20 cents xlix but I was referring to
this banknote so be about hundred shillings to one Australian dollar I
personally sold these for probably like ten dollars for Emmys
there in okay condition if you want to buy uncirculated Bank nature probably
looking about five ten dollars each which it’s pretty much yes I just said
look eBay you put be fingered bet five to ten dollars for or D twenty and fifty
and uncirculated for a high banknotes actually get bit more expensive so the
100’s before you be probably bit ten to fifteen dollars two hundred you probably
paying twenty five if you want a one thousand four
that’s still worth about $10 but that time it would have been work for about
$20 so you’d probably be looking at probably even $50 and over for a bank
notice it’s a high denomination so you’re not really going to see it that
often not many people would have actually kept it because what most
people in Africa if you should notice by now do not earn a lot of money so a
thousand shillings actually a lot of money in Kenya so anyway I hope you
enjoy this review I have a discord I’ll leave a link down below if you’d like to
join it and put some information up I’m trying to get that going I’ve been a bit
lazy on it also have a link to my eBay and also put a link to eBay showing ever
sellers selling these type of coins and banknotes and just have awesome bring
that in coin collecting time people thank you and bye bye
